Nick Leach- Associate Director
ALeague City native, Nick Leach attended Clear Creek Schools. He has had the incredible opportunity to work with master teachers in the district, including Summer Brauer, Charlene Wright, Matt Coffey, Kyle Pullen, and James Park. While at Clear Creek High School he was elected choir president, and participated in the Clear Creek Symphonic Chorale and Chamber Singers. As a part of those ensembles he had the distinct opportunity to perform at the 2012 American Choral Directors Association Southwestern Division’s regional convention in Dallas, Texas, and was a member of the 2013 Texas All-State Men’s Chorus under the direction of Dr. Jefferson Johnson.
Mr. Leach graduated Cum Laude in 2017 from the distinguished Moores School of Music at the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Voice and electives studies in music education. He studied Voice with Dr. Timothy Jones and conducting with Dr. Betsy Cook Weber and Dr. Charles Hausmann. While at UH, Mr. Leach performed with the internationally-renowned Moores School Concert Chorale under the direction of Dr. Weber, and had the great honor of performing with multiple professional ensembles in Houston, such as Ars Lyrica Houston and the Houston Symphony. In 2017, he traveled with the Moores School Concert Chorale and performed concerts at both the Texas Music Educators Convention in San Antonio, Texas and the American Choral Directors Association National Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. Leach was also able to help team teach an after-school music class at Lockahrt Elementary, a STEM school in Houston ISD.
In the fall of 2017, Mr. Leach had the pleasure of student teaching in Clear Creek ISD with the Clear Creek Intermediate School choir and in Alvin ISD at Passmore Elementary School. Through these placements he gained a passion for teaching music. His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Choral Director’s Association, and the National Association for Music Educators.
This will be Mr. Leach’s first year teaching, and his first year at Clear Lake High School. He enjoys spending time with friends, cooking, baking, and traveling. Mr. Leach is excited to be back in Clear Creek ISD, and is looking forward to a wonderful year with Clear Lake Choir!
